April 5th, Valerie Tissot in NYC
Spring is here, and so will Valerie be next week!
Stay tuned for details about our upcoming Jura tasting with Valerie on April 5th, 2017.
A little about Valérie and the vineyard…
Valerie had two grandparents closely connected with the wine business. Albert Piroutet, on her mother’s side, was one of the founders of the Arbois Fruitière in 1906 and was one of the strongest advocates for the Arbois to obtain the AOC in 1936. Valérie’s other great-grandfather, Albert Masson, was a champagniseur in Arbois. The wines champagnisés (precursors of the current Crémant du Jura) have existed for a very long time in the Tissot vineyard.
The estate is currently run on lutte raisonnée principles by Valérie and her brother, Jean-Christophe. The domaine, a 17 hectare estate, is situated in the heart of the AOC Arbois in the picturesque hillside village of Montigny-les-Arsures. Various parcels spread out over the municipalities, extending to a few additional hectares in Les Bruyères.
